The DWR coating boosts the water repellency of the fabric to near-waterproofness and repels wet snow and light rain. The jacket will stow inside its own internal chest pocket when you need to stuff it back into your pack and the elastic cuffs, teamed up with a hem cinch cord, will help seal out the storm and keep you snug.
